Wet gyprock does not always mean a full re-sheet. Caught early, we can often dry it in place and save you the cost and mess of replacing walls and ceilings.
Plasterboard wicks water upward and holds it. Left wet it sags, crumbles and grows mould, but caught early it can often be dried in place with the right equipment, saving a full re-sheet, repaint and the disruption that comes with it.
We measure how far the moisture has travelled, set up air movement and dehumidification, and where needed create small access points to dry the cavity behind the sheet. We monitor the readings until the board is back to a dry standard.
If the board has swelled, come away or been soaked by contaminated water, we will tell you honestly that it needs replacing, and handle the strip-out and drying so your builder can re-sheet a dry wall.
Often yes, if we get to it early. We dry it in place where possible and only recommend replacing board that has swelled, collapsed or been contaminated.
We use air movers and dehumidifiers and, where needed, small access points to dry the cavity, monitoring moisture until it reaches a dry standard.
Plasterboard usually dries within a few days to a couple of weeks depending on how wet it is. We confirm with moisture readings.
