Water hides inside walls. The surface can look dry while the cavity and insulation behind it stay wet, which is exactly where mould and rot start. We dry it properly, not just the surface.
When water runs down a wall it soaks into the cavity, the framing and any insulation. Left sitting in the tropical damp up here, it feeds mould and slowly rots the timber, long after the surface feels dry to the touch.
We map the moisture to find how far it has spread, then dry the cavity using targeted air flow and dehumidification, creating small access points where needed. We monitor the readings until the wall is dry all the way through.
Some insulation can be dried in place; some has to be removed if it has been soaked or contaminated. We will tell you which, and dry the cavity ready for it to be reinstated.
Because the cavity, framing and insulation hold water even when the surface looks dry, and that hidden moisture is what causes mould and rot.
Sometimes. Some insulation dries in place; soaked or contaminated insulation is removed. We advise on which applies.
