Ask whether a quote includes GST, disposal, antimicrobial treatment and the monitoring visits. A package price often covers several of these items already, so adding the lines together overstates the job.

Drying and repairs are separate stages, and nothing should be rebuilt until the moisture readings say it's dry. Humidity works against you up here. Opening the windows and running the ceiling fans rarely gets you there.

Usually, if the water escaped suddenly. Most Australian home policies cover damage from an "escape of liquid": a burst pipe, a split flexi hose, a failed hot water system. Two things catch people out. The policy generally pays for the damage the water caused, not for fixing the pipe or appliance that failed. And slow leaks that built up over time, like a shower leaking through failed grout, are usually excluded as gradual damage or wear and tear.
Flood is a separate cover. Since 2012, any Australian home policy that covers flood has to use the same definition: water escaping from a river, creek, dam or other watercourse onto land that is normally dry. Stormwater run-off and storm surge are treated separately again. Check which of these your policy includes before the Wet, not after.
